Wing K. Lee is the Chief Executive Officer of YTL Communications Sdn Bhd, the communications arms of YTL Corporation Berhad, Malaysia’s leading infrastructure conglomerate with businesses serving 12 million customers across 3 continents.

The company envisions a modern broadband nation enhanced by the internet to leapfrog Malaysia into an innovation-led economy. In November 2010, the company commercially launched ‘Yes’, Malaysia’s fastest 4G mobile Internet with converged communications services with a nationwide footprint to offer seamless connectivity. Globally recognized by IDC and Wall Street Journal, the “Yes” network was awarded the World’s Best New Service at the renowned Broadband World Forum in 2011 and Frost and Sullivan recognised the company as the Most Innovation Service Provider for Asia Pacific in 2012.

As the CEO of the company, Wing fully maximizes his expertise in innovative product development with a deep understanding of communications and Internet technologies to deliver affordable, world-class quality products and services that improve the way people in Malaysia learn, work and play.

Prior to joining YTL Communications, Wing had a distinguished career in the United States, having served as Chief Architect in the Long Distance Division, led Enterprise Architecture launch of the first nationwide wireless data network in the U.S, and eventually drove Sprint’s innovation program. Wing is the unique holder of both of the company’s top honours – the Leadership Excellence Award (2005) and the Technology Leadership Award (2001). Wing also holds twenty-two U.S. Patents in Mobile Internet and distributed systems and was recognized as the Asian American Engineer of the Year during the 2002 U.S. National Engineers Week.

A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Wings also holds an Executive Certificate in Management and Leadership from MIT’s Sloan School of Management.
